ABOUT CLINTON FIRE DEPARTMENT

Clinton Fire provides fire, rescue, and medical first response to a 72.5 square mile area, exceeding the 9.1 square miles of the City of Clinton. The Clinton Fire District covers approximately 20,000 citizens and includes many educational facilities, institutional facilities, two interstate highways, rural farmland, and city neighborhoods. The department covers the diverse fire district with two fire stations and 15 full-time firefighters and officers. That effort is augmented by an additional 8 part-time firefighters. Each employee is trained to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard to the position they hold and are third party certified to their position’s training as recognized by the South Carolina Fire Academy, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and Pro-Board International Accreditation for Fire Service Organizations.

Because of the shared commitment to community risk reduction efforts with department personnel and community partners, Clinton Fire Department has earned “South Carolina Fire Safe Community Designation.” The City of Clinton, churches, educational facilities, and civic organizations have assisted Clinton Fire Department in advocating fire safety education and smoke alarm installations.

We exist to serve all within our district. We hope to continue enhancing the safety of our citizens through our fire prevention and community risk plan in hopes of preventing an accident before it occurs. Our employees’ formal and on-shift training is designed for success. It allows us to operate efficiently, effectively, and in a manner that represents the knowledge and professionalism we have as a department.
